Vehicle Theft Alert – Please Stay Vigilant

Dear Residents,

We want to make you aware that there have been a number of vehicle thefts reported in the local area recently. Criminals are targeting vehicles parked on driveways and streets, including those with keyless entry systems.

Please take a few moments to review the following security tips to help keep your vehicle and home safe:

Vehicle Security Tips

Always lock your vehicle and check it is secure, even if leaving it for a short time.

Remove valuables from sight and avoid leaving items in the car overnight.

Park in well-lit areas or, if possible, in a garage.

Use additional security devices such as:

Steering wheel locks
Wheel clamps
Tracking devices

Keyless Entry Vehicles

Keep your key fob away from doors and windows when at home.

Use a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday bag) to prevent relay attacks.

Disable keyless entry if your vehicle allows this option.

Home Security Measures

Ensure doors and windows are locked when you are away or at night.

Install motion sensor lighting around driveways and entrances.

Consider CCTV or video doorbells for added deterrence.

If you have a garage, lock it securely and keep the vehicle inside when possible.

If you see any suspicious activity, please report it immediately via 101 or In an emergency, always dial 999.
